Q: When will registration information become available?
A: The registration brochure will be mailed to all dues-paying members in late February 2004. It will also be posted on the AAAE Annual Conference Web Site at that time.
Q: Will there be a headquarters hotel for this conference?
A: A block of rooms is being held at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, 3000 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109, phone (702) 732-5111, fax (702) 732-5948, www.lv-hilton.com. All attendees will receive a special rate of $112 single/double occupancy (there is a maximum of three guests per room). Reservations must be made by May 28, 2004, in order to guarantee this rate. Reservations made after this date can only be honored on a space and rate available basis. To make your hotel reservations, call the hotel directly at (702) 732-5111 or toll free (800) 732-7117 and identify yourself as part of the American Association of Airport Executives group. Payment for the first night room and tax is required to guarantee a reservation. Only guaranteed reservations will be held past 6:00 p.m. on day of arrival. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Cancellations made at least 72 hours prior to arrival date will be eligible for a deposit refund. Early departures will be subject to a $50 charge unless the hotel receives notification at the time of check-in.
Q: What should I wear?
A: The Las Vegas climate is extremely hot and dry. Summers are quite hot with temperatures frequently exceeding 100 degrees. Dress is business casual for all meetings. That means no ties! Men generally wear khakis and polo shirts. Women generally wear casual skirts/slacks and polo shirts/blouses. Dress for Thursday night’s final banquet is business attire.
Q: What is the “lead retrieval card” or “expo card” and how do I use it?
A: All attendees will be given a “lead retrieval card” (which is also called an expo card) when they check in at registration. This will look like a credit card and will have a magnetic strip on the back that holds all of the contact information from the attendee’s registration form. Many exhibitors will have “lead retrieval machines” which they will use to swipe the cards and collect contact information from the attendees visiting their booth. This will cut down on the number of business cards that attendees will have to distribute and facilitate in exhibitor following up. Many exhibitors will swipe expo cards to enter attendees in prize drawings and to distribute give-away items.
